Arkoma and Talihina stayed perfect Friday night while Bokoshe captured its first win in high school football games here Thursday night.
Pocola lost its first game of the season as the battered Indians were blasted by sixth-ranked Vian, 75-6, while Spiro’s first effort at repeating as district champions came up short as the Bulldogs lost at Idabel, 23-6, Panama stayed winless in a 28-7 district loss to Wilburton, and Heavener stayed close for a half before losing its homecoming contest to Hartshorne, 47-25.
Arkoma returned home and improved to 4-0 with a 44-18 in a district contest with Bluejacket. The Mustangs are now 4-0 overall and 2-0 in district play.
Talihina visited Antlers and came away with another impressive victory, winning 41-6, in the Tigers’ final non-district game.
Poteau also had a rough night, losing 42-16 at home to Hilldale (See story).
In games next week, Poteau travels to Tulsa Webster, Spiro hosts Eufaula, Panama visits Talihina, Vian hosts Heavener, Pocola is at Wilburton, Eagle Point is at Arkoma and Bokoshe goes to Claremore Christian.
