LeFlore County is tied for the second highest unemployment rate in the state according to information reported by the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission.
LeFlore County’s unemployment rate was 9.4 percent, tied with McCurtain County for the second highest in Oklahoma. Latimer County had the highest percentage in the state at 9.7 percent.
Statewide, unemployment is at 5.6 percent while nationwide it is at 9.1 percent.
The percentages for neighboring counties are Sequoyah County at 9.1 percent, Haskell County at 6.4 percent and Muskogee County at 6.9 percent.
