Who would have thought it possible?
Four of our pickers tied for first place in the LCJ Week 3 pick-em contest sponsored by the Poteau Chamber of Commerce.
No problem, we have had many ties before. That’s why we have tiebreakers, correct? What are the odds that two pickers both have the same record and then predict the same score in the tiebreaker?
Slim, huh? Actually, it has happened before and has now happened again. Kyle Wilson and Jason Lockhart were each 7-1 last week and both guessed 31 points for the number of points Oklahoma would score against Florida State.
So we will actually have to wait a week to see who wins the two free armbands to the Poteau Balloon Fest. The winner of this week’s contest will be determined by which of our two pickers does best in the Week 4 picks.
Also tied at 7-1 this week were Gerald Conway and Sydney Ritter. Impressive picks considering most of our pickers struggled compared to the previous two weeks.
Tied for the overall lead are Conway, Craig Hall, Lockhart and Wilson.
For those of you new to the Journal pick-em, each week our readers pick football games involving our county schools along with Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Tulsa and Arkansas. Picks must be returned by Friday at 5 p.m. by email to email@example.com, faxed to (866) 670-8784 or by mail to: LCJ, 300 S. Earl, Poteau, Ok. 74953.
