POTEAU—The 3rd Annual Kiamichi Outdoor Sportsman’s Festival will be held Friday and Saturday in downtown Poteau.
Friday activities start with a golf tournament at 1 p.m. at the Choctaw Country Club.
Vendors will be setting up downtown after 5 p.m. and live music will be played in the Pocket Park from 7 to 9 p.m.
There is free admission and you are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. No coolers are allowed, or alcohol.
Saturday kicks off with a bass tournament at Quarry Island at daylight.
Vendors will be setting up by 9 a.m. There will be a stick horse walk for kids, a rock wall, dunking booth, archery contest for adults and kids at 10:30 a.m.
Live music with local bands will perform from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Lawbreakers & Peacemakers, old western re-enactors, will perform shootouts. Also, Dana’s Boot Camp demo, Zumba Class demo, Gun & Knife Show, Car Show, Pony and Train Rides and More.
Stick around for the Live Weigh In with Mark Goines, Kelly and Karla Cooper when the fishermen are escorted from Lake Wister around 2 p.m.
A Henry .22 Long Rifle will be given away at 2 p.m The rifle can be seen at JR’S Pawn & Gun. Tickets are $2 each or 6 for $10. Tickets can be purchased at JR’s Pawn Shop, Poteau Main Street office, The Community State Bank branches, Holton’s, Jack’s Jewelers, Central National Bank Bridgeman’s and Poteau Chamber of Commerce.
