SPIRO–Frank Dee Gist, 78, of Spiro, passed away Monday, Oct. 24, 2011 in Spiro. He was born July 13, 1933 in Brooken, Ok. to John and Lela (Winn) Gist. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict.
Funeral services are Friday at 10 a.m. at Mallory-Martin Chapel with burial to follow at Cowlington Cemetery under the direction of the Mallory-Martin Funeral Home of Spiro.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Emily Gist; two daughters, Connie Upton and husband Scott of Fort Smith, and Leslie Brady and husband Alan of Pocola; two sons, Bill Gist and wife Therisa of Stigler, and Ed Gist of Stigler; two sisters, Alice Gibson of Shawnee, and
Della Davis of Arvin, Cal.; a brother, J.D. Gist of Cowlington; 10 grandchildren
Megan Gist, Adam Risenhoover, Stacy Wright, Mallory Brady, David Brady, Tiffany
Brady, Michael Brady, Traci Gist, Glenn Spears and Micki Walker; and six great-grandchildren AJ Risenhoover, Gunner Brady, Kaylee Brady, Sully Wright, Maddison Worsham and Marzie Walker
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mattie Mallay and Eunice Sutter; and two brothers, Bob Gist and Butler Gist.
The family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
