BENTONVILLE— HatsanUSA Inc. is bringing the Hatsan tradition of craftsmanship and quality in air rifles to sporting goods stores, retail chains and gun stores throughout the United States.
Hatsan, which has long been a leading manufacturer of air rifles in Europe, exports air guns to more than 90 countries. Now American dealers have the opportunity to carry this line of high-performance air rifles.
HatsanUSA will offer 90 variations of 18 different models, including break barrel and PCP designs. Each model is available in .177, .22 and .25 caliber versions with black synthetic, camouflage or solid walnut stocks.
Hatsan air rifles include standard features that are often considered extras on competing air guns. It starts with the two-stage Quattro trigger system, a type of trigger typically found on competition air rifles. The SAS shock absorber system makes Hatsan air rifles and mounted accessories last longer by reducing recoil and vibration.
And while the prices vary depending on the model, the high standards do not.
“Air gun enthusiasts around the world have experienced the power and performance of Hatsan,” said Blaine Manifold, president and CEO of HatsanUSA. “We’re confident that American shooters will appreciate the high-quality workmanship of Hatsan air rifles. The initial response from retailers has been very positive.”
Manifold, a Heavener native and 1984 graduate of HHS, has 20 years of experience working in the outdoor sporting goods industry.
Hatsan’s commitment to quality began with the first handcrafted air rifle produced 37 years ago. The Turkey-based company is family-owned and -operated with a hands-on approach. The company’s vertically integrated manufacturing process starts with the design of each product in-house.
Nearly all components are manufactured by Hatsan, and each component must meet high performance standards before assembly. Every finished air rifle is tested using lead pellet ammunition rather than lightweight alloys to ensure that it will perform with the power, accuracy and reliability promised by the Hatsan brand.
The HatsanUSA line includes models for a variety of shooters at a variety of prices. A 1,000 FPS break barrel air rifle combo begins at $99. Hatsan’s high-performance PCP models are available at the other end of the price spectrum.
HatsanUSA expects to begin shipping air rifles to the U.S. market in October.
