POTEAU–The afternoon Health Careers Certifications Class at Kiamichi Technology Center – Poteau campus recently voted for the 2011-2012 Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) officers.
The following students are the new officers: Shelby Couch of Howe – President, Ashley Vincent of Spiro – Vice-President, Ashley Weaver of Poteau – Secretary, Shawn Bilyeu of Spiro – Parliamentarian, Courtney Yarbrough of Wister – Reporter, and Linda Thomas of Panama – Historian. KTC’s Health Careers Certifications instructors are Lorraine Christmas and Donella Hawley.
HOSA is a national student organization endorsed by the U.S. Department of Education and the Health Science Education Division of ACTE. HOSA’s two-fold mission is to promote career opportunities in the health care industry and to enhance the delivery of quality health care to all people. HOSA’s goal is to encourage all health occupations instructors and students to join and be actively involved in the HSE-HOSA Partnership.
