The most exciting men in the world, otherwise known as our Previewing Panel, may not swim with the sharks anymore or hang out with Hollywood starlets.
Instead, they spend their time picking football games and are dang good at it. Most of the time.
Except for last week, also known as The Week That Dinged The Panel, or Upset Week.
Like all professionals (except ours don’t get paid), there are weeks when the stars don’t align, or Oklahoma plays like poo and loses to Texas Tech. That was the case last week as our Panel struggled.
Doug Hall and Jerry Pitchford overcame the great odds to tie for the weekly picks at 6-4 with Hall winning by tiebreaker. Champion Mark Caldwell was a game back at 5-5.
Now, with only two weeks remaining, it’s go time for our Panel. Hall is still one game ahead of Pitchford, two ahead of Caldwell.
“I’ve always excelled under pressure,” Hall didn’t say. “I’m like a rock. Really. You might as well stick a fork in Pitchford and Caldwell, because they are done. When people remember this year, they will remember the Doug Hall.”
