HOWE–Lillian Virginnia Pettis, 83, of Howe passed away Monday, Nov. 28, 2011 in Howe. She was born July 8, 1928 in Wewoka to Walter and Ila Della Hays, was a longtime resident of Watonga and a homemaker.
A pot luck dinner and memorial service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m., Saturday at the Christ Gospel Church, 517 E. Main in Watonga under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home.
She married Doyle Pettis on Aug. 31, 1946 in Wellington, Kan. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughters, Leella Williams and Sonya Pettis; son, Dean Pettis; grandsons, Billy Powell, Doug Rohrbaugh; two sisters; and four brothers.
She is survived by sons, Walter and Lee Pettis of Yukon, Darrell Pettis of Bethany; daughters, Cheryl Hauser and husband Bruce of Escondido, Cal., Gaylene Cacy and husband Wayne of Howe and Twila Pettis of Nashville; sister, Georgia Smith of Watonga; brother, Dewayne Hays of Washington; 19 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 43 great great grandchildren.
