Talihina’s girls advanced to the finals of the Longhorn Classic at Lone Grove in county basketball Friday night.
The Lady Tigers improved to 8-1 with a 37-34 win over Healdton in the tournament semifinals. Talihina will take on Washington for the tournament championship Saturday at 7 p.m.
Chelsea Baggs led Talihina with 15 points.
Talihina’s boys fell in the semifinals to Lone Grove, 65-56.
Arkoma swept Bokoshe at home. The Lady Mustangs improved to 8-2 with their second win over Bokoshe this year, 65-42. Shaylea Whisenhunt led Arkoma with 18 points, Kelsi Johnson added 15 and Abby Gragg 12.
Arkoma’s boys downed the Tigers, 51-16.
Cameron’s boys crushed Keota, 66-39, while the Lady Jackets played the visitors tough for a half before falling, 56-33.
Cameron improved to 10-2 and bounced back from Thursday’s loss at Pocola by jumping out to a big lead early and increasing the margin. Ryan Carter led the Jackets with 18 points while Justin Cox and Kenny Whitehead each added 15. Kyle Matlock led Keota with 18 points.
The Lady Jackets only trailed by one at halftime, but Keota outscored Cameron by 19 points in the third quarter to clinch the win. Cindy Hicks had 13 to lead Cameron. Cassie Drummond and Jade Carrey each had 14 points to Keota while Justice Shepherd added 13.
Panama swept a pair of games at Haileyville as the boys won 41-32 as Anthony Milburn led the Razorbacks with 24 points while the LadyBacks won, 42-30.
