HEAVENER—Merle Dwain McClain, 74, of Heavener, passed away Jan. 25, 2012 in Fort Smith. He was born March 23, 1937 in Forrester to Carl and Hazel McClain and was a member and deacon of Coaldale Baptist Church.
Services are Saturday at 11 a.m. at Dowden Funeral Home Chapel with interment at Memorial Park Cemetery in Heavener under the direction of Dowden Funeral Home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Barbara; a grandson-in-law, Joseph Waddles; and a brother, Charles Paulso.
Survivors are his wife of 55 years, Lissie McClain; three sons, Dwaine McClain and wife Heln of Jackson, Ms., David McClain and wife Nancy of Heavener, and Rodney McClain and wife Nita, also of Heavener; two sisters, Christine Gregory of Howe and Sammie Proctor of Poteau; four brothers, Bill McClain and wife Pat of Heavener, Jerry McClain and wife Ruby of Shingletown, Cal., Ed McClain and wife Elea Mae of Heavener, and Jack Pauluso of Hermiston, Ore.; an aunt, Leoda McClain of Gilroy, Cal.; eight grandchildren, Kaitlin McClain, Travis McClain and wife Michele, Sophia Waddles, Emily Horn and husband Chris, Shannon Johnson and husband Eric, Gregory McClain and wife Payton, Levi McClain and wife Lacey, and Julie Keith and husband Brandon; and six great-grandchildren.
