FORT COFFEE—Roy Eubanks, 86, of Fort Coffee, passed away Jan. 18, 2012 in Fort Smith. He was born on Jan. 25, 1925, to Young Derricott and Verma Brown Eubanks. His mother later married Roy Eubanks, who raised and adopted him as his son, giving him his name Roy “June” Eubanks as he was called by family and friends. He was a member of Mount Triumph Baptist Church in Fort Coffee
Funeral services are Saturday at 1 p.m. at Mount Triumph Baptist Church in Fort Coffee. Burial will follow at Fort Coffee Cemetery under the direction of Mallory Martin Funeral Home of Spiro.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; one brother Raymond Eubanks of Los Angeles; and five sons Elmer, Curtis, Sanders, Larry and Roscoe Derricott.
Survivors are a son, Herbert (Cheryl) Derricott of Lawton; two daughters, Caroline (Sandis) Williams of Edmond and Jeannette (Wilbur) Fisher of Chandler, Az.; a sister, Alberta Eubanks-Thomas of Fort Smith; a brother-in-law, Wesley Steele, of Fort Coffee; and a sister-in-law, Arzoria Steele, of Fort Coffee, Oklahoma.
