POTEAU—The semifinals for both the boys and girls are now set for the 2012 LeFlore County junior high tournament.
The semifinal games will be held Friday at Carl Albert State College. Hodgen’s girls play Howe at 5 p.m. while Poteau’s girls take on Spiro at 6:15 p.m. Cameron’s boys meet Wister at 7:30 p.m. while Poteau and Heavener wrap up the action at 8:45 p.m.
The sixth-seeded Cameron boys scored the biggest upset of the day by knocking off third-seeded Spiro, 37-34, to advance to the semifinals.
The Yellow Jackets will meet Wister, a 50-23 winner over Talihina. Top-seeded Poteau’s boys moved on with a 36-12 win over Panama and will face Heavener, a 30-15 winner over Howe.
Spiro, the top-seeded girls, edged Bokoshe, 31-24, to advance to take on Poteau, a 42-20 winner over Wister. Howe’s girls romped past Panama, 47-16, while Hodgen also advanced with a 40-24 victory over Heavener.
