The girls’ semifinals are Thursday night while the consolation and fifth-place games are now set for the boys and girls after Wednesday’s losers bracket games.
All the remaining games in the tournament will be played at Spiro.
In semifinal action for the girls, top-seeded Howe faces fourth-seeded Bokoshe Thursday at 7 p.m. and second-seeded Spiro tangles with third-seeded Talihina at 8:30 p.m.
Updated boys bracket
Three of the four teams are returning to the semifinals again this season as Howe, Bokoshe and Spiro were all in the semifinals last year. Howe reached the finals before falling to Heavener in the championship game while Bokoshe and Spiro both lost in the semifinals last year.
Howe has defeated Bokoshe last week while Talihina and Spiro have not played.
Also on Thursday, Pocola’s girls take on Wister at 4 p.m. and Panama’s boys pair off with Wister at 5:30 p.m. in the consolation finals for both divisions.
Wednesday’s games were all losers bracket contests. In the girls Pocola downed LeFlore 46-32, Heavener edged Panama 55-42, Wister nipped Whitesboro, 54-51 and Poteau advanced with a 61-45 victory over Arkoma.
Pocola’s girls led by only two points going into the fourth quarter before outscoring the Lady Savages by 12 in the final quarter. Taylor Farley had 20 points for Pocola and Lindsey Mote scored 19 for LeFlore.
Heavener took control of its game by outscoring Panama, 18-9, in the third quarter. Amber Holt had 13, Krista Doyle 12 and Sadie Watkins 10 for the Lady Wolves. Lauren Smith had 14 and Stephanie Barcheers 13 for the LadyBacks.
Wister’s girls used a big edge in the middle two periods after trailing by eight points at the end of the first quarter in the win over Whitesboro. Kayla Newton led Wister with 18 points, Jayla Roath had 15 and Clara Brown added 10. Whitney Ward led all scorers with 23 for Whitesboro while Taylor Bowers finished with 15.
Poteau outscored Arkoma 18-8 in the final quarter to seal the win over the Lady Mustangs. Kaitlan Standridge scored 20 for Poteau while Colleen Peterson added 14 and Montana Roll 10. Kelsi Johnson led Arkoma with 12 points.
Cameron’s boys edged Howe, 66-59, Panama moved on with a 61-50 win over Arkoma, LeFlore took down Whitesboro, 63-50 and Pocola edged Talihina, 55-49.
Ryan Carter had 31 points in Cameron’s win and Kenny Whitehead scored 19 for the Jackets. Jared Brown finished with 24 points for Howe.
Panama used a 27-10 advantage in the third quarter in its win over Arkoma after trailing by five at the half. Anthony Milburn once again led Panama with 18 points. Mark Garner added 13 and Dakota Bellgard finished with 11. Tanner Steward led Arkoma with 17 and Christian Davis had 13.
LeFlore dominated the middle quarters by outscoring Whitesboro 34-18 to move on. Dakota Watson had 28 points and Caleb Smith 19 for LeFlore. Colton Sisemore had 17 points and Hunter Tidwell 14 for Whitesboro.
Pocola’s boys jumped out to a 10-point lead at the end of the first quarter and made it hold up in the win over the Tigers. Grant Severe had 13 points in the first quarter and finished with 22 to lead the Indians. Omar Qamoum added 10 points for Pocola.
Alan Lockhart led Talihina with 19 points and Waylan Cannon added 10.
