POTEAU—Kiamichi Technology Center’s Small Business Program and the Poteau Chamber of Commerce will host a small business assistant program each month.
Karl Scifres will be at the Poteau Chamber on the third Thursday of each month to provide assistance to small business owners and prospective small business owners in the area.
He will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. with the first date set for Jan. 19.
For the past 29 years, Scifres has been the Small Business Services Coordinator at Kiamichi Technology Center, McAlester Campus. He holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Central Oklahoma with an emphasis in Marketing Education.
Prior to working at KTC, he worked as a Store Manager for Zale’s Jewelers for four years and began his vocational career by working three years as a Marketing Education Teacher.
He has assisted many start-up businesses and individuals in the decision process of “Taking the BIG Step” for moving forward with their plans. He has provided assistance in many areas such as writing business plans, answering inventor/patent questions, preparing marketing strategies and plans, and packaging loans.

Small business owners who need assistance with their small business or individuals who are interested in starting a business are encouraged to contact the Chamber for an appointment. There is no charge for the service.
