Spiro swept Heavener while Howe and Wister split a pair of games in county basketball action Tuesday night.
Also, Cameron’s boys won at Keota while Talihina’s girls downed Hartshorne, 68-45.
Spiro’s boys and girls held off upset bids by Heavener to win. The Lady Bulldogs outscored Heavener, 13-3, down the stretch for a 46-33 win.
Spiro led 33-30 in the fourth quarter before finishing strong. Philicea Mack paced Spiro with 16 points while Kanisha Hutchinson added 11. Amber Holt led Heavener with 17 points.
Spiro’s boys also had a struggle, playing without LCT MVP Devon Perry to win. The two teams were tied at 29 in the third quarter before Spiro pulled away down the stretch.
Knifeis Carter and Tyh Hawkins each had 15 points for Spiro while Shaun Bradley led Heavener with 18 points and Trevor Smith had nine.
Howe’s girls showed no signs of a hangover after winning the LCT Saturday. The Lady Lions jumped out to a 24-2 lead at the end of the first quarter at Wister and coasted to a 72-39 victory.
Megan Brown and Abigail McGarrah each had 16 points for Howe while Cheyanne Pilkington and Jayla Roath each had eight points for Wister.
Wister’s boys held on to down Howe, 41-40. The Wildcats had a 27-20 lead at halftime.
Austin Standridge had 22 points and 12 rebounds for Cameron as the Yellow Jackets overcame a slow start to win and sweep the season series from Keota. Ryan Carter added 17 points and nine boards for Cameron.
