It was a good night for the Bokoshe and Whitesboro girls as the two teams captured Class B district championships Saturday night.
Bokoshe used a 12-0 run early to take control of the game and went on to down Midway, 43-34, behind Miranda McFarland’s 17 points and Christina Silva’s nine points.
At Whitesboro, Whitesboro’s girls captured their district title with a 46-36 win over Eagletown. The Lady Bulldogs led from early on and steadily built on its lead throughout the first three quarters.
Taylor Bowers had 16 points to lead Whitesboro while Whitney Ward added 10.
Both Bokoshe and Whitesboro advance to regional tournaments Thursday in the winners bracket.
It was not as good of a night for three other county teams. Whitesboro’s boys had a big comeback but could never catch Moyers in a 59-56 loss.
The Bulldogs trailed 33-17 at halftime before starting their comeback.
Leflore lost both its district games at home to McCurtain. The Lady Savages lost, 58-40, while LeFlore’s boys fell, 66-58.
They will also advance to the regional tournament in the losers bracket and play Thursday.
