Whitesboro’s boys advanced to the district tournament finals with a win over Eagletown while a pair of county teams were eliminated in the district tournament at Cameron.
Whitesboro held off Eagletown, 58-49, to advance to Saturday’s finals against Moyers, which got a bye. The Lady Bulldogs will also be playing for a district tournament championship with a game against Eagletown, which defeated Moyers, 44-10.
Clayton eliminated two county teams in the district tournament at Cameron. Clayton’s girls downed Cameron, 50-28, while the boys finished off Arkoma, 74-52.
Clayton’s girls used a 23-5 advantage in the second quarter to build a lead Cameron could never challenge. April Spruell led Clayton with 12 points while Cindy Hicks had 18 for Cameron.
Clayton’s boys jumped out to an 18-6 lead after the first quarter and held off the Mustangs. Dustin Warren led Clayton with 25 points, Dylan Martin added 13 and Dalton Little 12. Christian Davis had 21 for Arkoma while Tanner Steward added 17.
In the district finals at Cameron, Clayton’s girls play Arkoma at 6:30 p.m. while Cameron’s boys face Clayton in the second game.
Talihina swept Wilburton in a pair of games. The Lady Tigers won, 59-51, while the Tigers defeated the Diggers, 38-22.
Heavener also lost a pair of games at home. The Wolves fell behind 37-13 at the halftime to a Stigler team they defeated on the road Monday and lost, 66-39.
Stigler’s girls used a big second half to down the Lady Wolves. The teams were tied at 21 at halftime before the Lady Panthers outscored Heavener 29-13 in the final two quarters.
