She has been a faithful Christian since her youth and after finishing elementary school at Tarby, graduated from Poteau High School, where she was a cheerleader and played on the basketball team. Mrs. Hebert enjoyed attending sporting events and cheered on Poteau teams until about five years ago.
She was a talented musician and enjoyed playing the piano. As a young woman, she sang in the Polk Creek Quarter and later played the piano for church services and other public gatherings.
Services are Friday at 10 a.m. at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with Rev. Jim Cook & Rev. Bryan Fouts officiating. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home.
Survivors include sons Phil Hebert and wife Brenda, Jim Hebert; daughter-in-law, Priscilla Hebert; daughter, Carol Hebert St. John; grandchildren Justin Hebert and wife Shea, Andy Hebert and fiancé Myrandi Woodall, Aaron Hebert and wife Leslie, Jennifer Hebert, Megan Hebert and husband Graham, Tracy Lamb and husband Jeremy, Heather and Kristian Roggendorf, Matthew St. John and wife Sandy, Jessica Graff and husband Shawn; 10 great-grandchildren; and sister in law, Norma Flanagan.
Pallbearers will be Justin, Andy, and Aaron Hebert, Graham Dunn, Jeremy Lamb and Lyndal Stewart.
The family will be at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.
