WISTER–Janice Pauline Midgley Couch, 49, of Wister passed away Feb. 19, 2012 in Fort Smith. She was born Dec. 2, 1962 in Stockton, Cal. to Clifford Melton and Lilace Elaine (Sampson) Midgley and was a cook at Wister Public Schools.
Services are Thursday at 2 p.m. at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau with Rev. PJ Atkinson & Rev. Larry Strouse officiating. Interment will follow at Ellis Chapel Cemetery in Wister, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandpa, Charley Midgley; maternal grandparents, O.C. and Mildred Sampson; and best friend, Cheryl Johnson Seagraves.
Survivors include her daughters, Sherauna Burleson of Wister, Tiffanee Couch Horn and husband Jared of Wister; grandchildren, Aiyden Horn and Abee Jo Horn; a sister Sherry Wemmerus and husband Eddie of Wister; brothers George Midgley and wife Paula of Poteau, OK, and Lance Midgley and wife Melissa of Talihina; eight nephews; six nieces; ex-husband, Tommy Couch of Heavener; lifelong friend, Nancy Ward Tomblinson of Wister; special aunt, Murlene Sanders of Poteau; grandmother, Dorothy Midgley of Wister; and parents, Cliff and Elaine Midgley of Wister.
Pallbearers are Devon Midgley, Jesse Rice, Jake Gandee, Stephen Wemmerus, Chad Jackson and Chris Rice. Honorary pallbearers are Corey Hill and Chris Midgley.
