The larger county teams wrap up their regular season and move into the postseason this weekend as they will compete in district tournaments while the smaller schools move into regional play.
Four county teams captured district tournaments over the weekend in the Arkoma girls, Bokoshe girls, Cameron boys and the Whitesboro girls.
Arkoma girls are competing in the Class A Area IV area tournament at Wilburton High School. The Lady Mustangs face Wright City Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Bokoshe’s girls are in the Class B Area III tournament and will play at Boynton High School. The Lady Tigers take on Braggs Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
LeFlore’s girls are in the same area tournament, but in the losers bracket. The Lady Savages play Carney Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Stroud.
Whitesboro’s girls are in the Class B area IV tournament and play at Stringtown. The Lady Bulldogs play Red Oak Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
Cameron’s boys are in the Area IV tournament at Wilburton High School. The Yellow Jackets take on Wright City Thursday at 8 p.m.
LeFlore’s boys are in the Class B Area III tournament in the losers bracket. The Savages play Carney Thursday at 3 p.m. at Stroud.
Whitesboro’s boys are in the Class B Area IV tournament in the losers bracket. The Bulldogs play Battiest Thursday at 3 p.m. at Stringtown.
The larger schools will compete in district tournaments over the weekend. In Class 4A, Poteau hosts Hilldale on Saturday in Area IV.
Both 3A schools were sent on the road in Area IV. Heavener visits Kansas while Spiro travels to Eufaula with all games Friday.
The county 2A teams are in three different district tournaments. Wister hosts a district tournament with Fort Towson and Howe competing. On Friday, Wister’s girls play Fort Towson at 6:30 p.m. with the winner playing Howe Saturday at 6:30 p.m. for the district tournament.
Howe’s boys play Fort Towson Friday at 8 p.m. with the winner taking on Wister Saturday at 8 p.m.
Panama is hosting another district tournament and welcomes Gore and Pocola. Gore’s girls play Pocola Friday at 6:30 p.m. with the winner playing Panama Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
Panama’s boys play Pocola Friday at 8 p.m. with the winner playing Gore Saturday at 8 p.m.
Talihina was sent to a district tournament at Warner. Talihina’s girls play the winner of Friday’s game between Warner and Summit Christian Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
Talihina’s boys play Warner Friday at 8 p.m. with the winner of that game taking on Summit Christian Saturday at 8 p.m.
