Bokoshe’s girls were the only team to advance to the regional finals after Thursday’s games were complete.
The Lady Tigers moved on in the winners’ bracket with a 46-34 win over Braggs on Thursday as Miranda McFarland scored 12 points in the win. Bokoshe will face seventh-ranked Deer Creek-Lamont Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in the regional finals at Stroud.
In other winners’ bracket games Thursday, Whitesboro’s girls lost to powerful Red Oak, 64-23, while Arkoma’s girls lost to Wright City, 55-50, and Cameron’s boys were defeated by second-ranked Wright City, 57-36.
In the boys game at Wilburton, Cameron fell behind early and could never make a comeback. The Yellow Jackets trailed by 11 at halftime before cutting the lead to six points in the third quarter, only to see Wright City score the final nine points of the quarter and go on to take a 57-36 win.
Cameron plays Kiowa Friday at 8 p.m. at Wilburton High School.
Arkoma’s girls led early against Wright City and rallied in the fourth quarter to tie the score before falling, 55-50.
Kelsi Johnson had 14 points to lead the Lady Mustangs while Abby Gragg had 10 and Benny Torpe 9. Arkoma plays Keota at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
The 10th-ranked Red Oak girls had too much firepower in the 64-23 win over Whitesboro. Whitesboro will try to stay alive when it plays Moss Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Moss.
Whitesboro’s boys stayed alive in the losers’ bracket with a 42-32 win over Battiest. The Bulldogs also play Moss at Moss Friday at 8 p.m.
Both LeFlore teams stayed alive on Thursday with wins over Carney. Lindsey Mote had 39 points for the Lady Savages in a 58-35 win while LeFlore’s boys swamped Carney, 76-56.
LeFlore’s girls play Braggs at 1:30 p.m. while the Savages face Mason at 3 p.m. Both games will be played at Stroud.
The larger schools start district play Friday night.
In Class 3A, Heavener travels to Kansas while Spiro is at Eufaula.
There are three Class 2A districts involving county teams.
At Panama, Pocola’s girls play Gore at 6:30 p.m. while Panama’s boys hook up with Pocola at 8 p.m.
Wister is hosting another district. The Lady Wildcats play Fort Towson at 6:30 p.m. while Howe’s boys battle Fort Towson at 8 p.m.
Talihina’s boys play Warner at Warner at 8 p.m.
