It was a night of sweeps in county basketball Tuesday night.
Howe, Panama and Talihina both swept their games while Poteau lost both its games at Roland.
Panama’s girls won their second road game in as many nights as the LadyBacks edged Gans, 42-38, behind a balanced scoring attack. Stephanie Barcheers led Panama with 12 points while Lauren Smith and Summer Stockton each added nine. Hannah and Gaylin Goins both had five and Sierra Whiteaker added two.
The Razorbacks bounced back from Monday’s loss at Cameron with a 54-26 win over Gans to complete the sweep.
Talihina swept Heavener at home as the girls won, 43-28, while the boys used a big fourth quarter in a 61-41 victory. The Tigers only led 22-21 at the half and 39-31 after three quarters before outscoring Heavener, 22-10, in the fourth quarter.
Howe also picked up a pair of road wins at McCurtain. The Lady Lions crushed the hosts, 74-21, while the s boys also picked up a road win with an 80-62. Stephen Helmandollar’s 25 points paced Howe while Jared Brown added 21 and Chesley Hall had 12.
Roland picked up a pair of wins at home over Poteau, the second wins in a week. Roland’s boys jumped out to a 19-6 lead after the first quarter and coasted to a 65-35 win. Jarrett Lowrimore led Poteau with eight points.
The Lady Pirates only trailed by four at halftime before Roland dominated the second half in a 60-46 win. The Lady Rangers outscored Poteau, 17-5, in the third quarter to take control. Kaitlan Standridge and Shelby Standridge each had 11 points to lead Poteau.
Bokoshe’s girls picked up another big win with a 58-48 win over Wister to improve to 15-6.
Pocola also split a pair of games at home with Stigler. The boys improved to 15-3 with a 67-57 win while the girls fell to the Lady Panthers, 50-28.
