Heavener took a pair of games from Pocola at home Tuesday night while Talihina swept both games at Hartshorne.
Heavener’s boys won their second straight after snapping a five-game losing streak Monday at Stigler with a 61-42 win over the Indians. The Wolves jumped in front early 11-2 and increased the lead to 30-13 at the half.
Trevor Smith had 23 points for Heavener while Noah Davis added 11. Grant Severe led Pocola with 16 points.
Heavener’s girls only led by seven at halftime before outscoring Pocola 37-21 in the second half in a 55-32 win. Jordan Kannady had 15 to top Heavener while Logan Hinds and Amber Holt each added 11. Taylor Farley and Breanna Vaughn each had 10 for Pocola.
Talihina built big leads in both games at Hartshorne. The Lady Tigers led 40-22 at halftime before coasting to the 51-40 win while Talihina’s boys led by eight at the end of the first quarter and eventually won, 68-45. After starting 0-6, Talihina won its ninth game against only five losses.
