Four Carl Albert State College students have been nominated to the All-USA Academic Team.
Representing CASC from the Sallisaw campus are Sharon Cole and Ashley Collier. Austin Christopher and Jeramy O’Berry are the Poteau campus recipients.
The four students went through a series of selection criteria at the campus level and were then nominated to represent CASC at state. According to Annette Staats, CASC Phi Theta Kappa advisor, college presidents of the community colleges in Oklahoma nominate Phi Theta Kappa students to the All-USA Academic team.
The Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges and the Oklahoma Council of Two-Year College Presidents hosted the All-Oklahoma Academic Team Student Recognition Ceremony to honor the nominees.
“It is an honor to nominate students to the All-USA Team each year,” said CASC president Brandon Webb. “These are students who have excelled during their time at Carl Albert State College, and we know they will continue to thrive as they move forward.”
Each of the four students will receive scholarships at the university they attend following CASC graduation. Cole plans to attend Northeastern at Tahlequah; and Christopher, O’Berry, and Collier all plan to attend Oklahoma State University.
