POTEAU–The Carl Albert State College Student Nurses’ Association has worked on two community assistance projects, one in the fall and one this semester, in order to make a difference for those in need.
During the fall semester, members of the association collected blankets and presented them to the Catholic Charities in Sallisaw. This semester, the CASC students collected items to donate to Grace Cottage Crisis Pregnancy Center in Poteau. Nancy Putman, Director of the Pregnancy Center, expressed her sincere appreciation for the generous donations received.
Deborah Cheater, Nursing Instructor at Carl Albert State College, explained that the CASC students continually look for ways to help the community.
“These were two projects that our association members were able to work on, and it was a win for both those providing the donations and those receiving,” Cheater said. “Our nursing students stay incredibly busy with classes and clinicals, yet want to take time to help our communities.”
