Baseball fans in LeFlore County will not have to take the week off next week during spring break.
Two big festivals will be held in LeFlore County with the 2012 Poteau Wood Bat Festival and the 3A Preview Rankings Baseball Festival at Spiro taking place starting next Wednesday and continuing through Saturday.
The Wood Bat Festival lasts Wednesday through Friday and features 19 teams, including Class B #2 Red Oak, Class B #7 Moss, 3A second-ranked Eufaula, 11th-ranked Cameron in Class A, Stilwell, #16 in 4A and Seminole, #20 Seminole and Pocola, ranked 17th in 2A.
Also in the field are the host Pirates, Roland, Panama, Heavener, Jay, Dickson, Stigler, Haileyville, Muldrow, Hartshorne, Fort Smith Northside, Central Sallisaw and Howe.
Games will be played at Poteau, Cameron and Howe.
Many of the top teams in Class 3A will compete in the Spiro Festival, including three of the top 10 teams in the class in #5 Plainview, sixth-ranked Spiro and eighth-ranked Festival.
The Festival starts Thursday and runs through Saturday.
Also competing are #11 Sulphur and 14th-ranked Beggs. Other teams in the field are St. Mary’s, Haskell, Wilburton, Kellyville and Heavener.
