POTEAU–Donald W. Parker, age 62, of Poteau passed away on Monday in Poteau. He was born May 11, 1950 at Oklahoma City to Bennie Franklin and Wilma Lafaye (Blaylock) Parker. He was a graduate of Poteau High School, a veteran of the U.S.M.C. where he served in Vietnam, a lifetime member of DAV and retired from the production department at Bremner.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Grace Manor Memorial Chapel in Poteau with Pastor Keith Williams officiating. Interment of ashes will be private at Oakland Cemetery. Cremation services are under the direction of Grace Manor Funeral Home.
He is preceded in death by his father Bennie F. Parker; and his only son Bryan Lee Parker.
Surviving family members are his mother, Wilma Parker, of Poteau; twin sister Ann Phillips and husband Billy of Owasso; brother Bruce Parker and wife Brenda of Poteau; nephew Brooks Parker and wife Dana; great nieces, Skye and Sophie Parker; lifelong best friend Taylor Newby; and companion Freckles his dog.
