Unemployment figures for LeFlore County and all of Oklahoma improved in the October report from the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission.
LeFlore County’s unemployment percentage dropped to 6.6 for the month, down from 6.7 percent in September. In August, the rate was 7.3 percent while October 2013 the total was 8.6 percent.
The county has a work force of 19,050 with 17,786 currently employed and 1,264 out of work.
No county in Oklahoma showed an increase in the unemployed for the month.
Latimer County had the highest unemployment percentage at 7.4 percent followed by Sequoyah County at 7.1. McCurtain and McIntosh counties were both at 6.9 percent while LeFlore County was fifth.
Major County had the best figures for the month at 2.1 percent.
