OLATHE, Kan.—Funeral services for William Kendall Lynn, 39, of Olathe, KS (formerly of Poteau) are Saturday at 10 a.m. at Cross Community Church in Poteau with Rev. Brian Fields officiating.
Interment will follow at the Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home.
He passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 in Olathe, Kan. Kendall was born in Poteau on Sept. 11, 1976 to Bill and Linda (Thompson) Lynn. He was a Deputy US Marshall, a Captain in the Oklahoma National Guard 180th Infantry, a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Afghanistan, Kuwait and Bosnia, and a 1995 graduate of Poteau High School.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Lynn.
Survivors include his wife, Gwen, of the home; his children, Christopher, Garrett and Gina; mother, Linda Yarbrough and husband Ricci of Arkoma; brothers, Kelly Lynn and wife Molly Lynn, and their children, Sara, Kali and Presley of Norman, Kyle Lynn and wife Mitzy, and their children, Kolton, Justyn and Ky of Poteau; sisters Dana Welton and husband Greg, and their children, Jacquie, Kaci and Drew of Poteau, and Aimee Lynn of Oklahoma City; brother-in-law, Jerry Pitchford and wife Kelli, and their children, Jace, Jett and Maci of Poteau; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Lynne Pitchford of Heavener; other relatives, loved ones and friends.
The family will be at the funeral home Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. to visit with relatives and friends.
