LeFlore County saw a big increase in the sales tax for January compared to the previous year.
In 2015, the sales tax was $414,220.14 while it jumped to $555,677.52 in January of 2016.
Several towns also had a good increase over the previous year. Heavener went up from $60,586.32 a year ago to $71,865.65 this year to have the biggest jump in the county.
Bokoshe, Cameron, Fanshawe, Howe, Panama, Rock Island and Wister also took in larger amounts this year.
