On a day where two double-digit seeds won, three of the top four seeds advanced to the winner’s bracket semifinals on Tuesday.
No. 10 Heavener and 11th-seeded Arkoma won their opening games and fifth-seeded Panama knocked off No. 4 LeFlore in action on Monday.
In later games, top-seeded Wister, second-seeded Poteau and No. 3 Spiro won to advance to Tuesday’s winner’s bracket games.
Games will be played at host LeFlore and Poteau’s Town Creek Park on Tuesday.
In the winner’s bracket games, Wister takes on Panama at 7 p.m. at LeFlore while Poteau and Spiro play at 7 p.m. in Poteau.
All games from Thursday on will be played at LeFlore.
In loser’s bracket play at LeFlore on Tuesday, Whitesboro takes on Pocola at 1 p.m. with Howe battling LeFlore at 3 p.m. The two winners play at 5 p.m.
At Poteau, Arkoma and Cameron meet at 3 p.m. with the winner facing Heavener at 5 p.m.
In second-round games, Wister moved on with a 9-1 win over Whitesboro and Panama took a 9-8 win over LeFlore. Poteau got a no-hitter from Gary Price in an 8-0 win over Heavener (see STORY) while Spiro scored 10 runs in the fifth inning to get a 13-5 win over Arkoma.
In early games Monday, Heavener got a four-hitter from Corry Duncan and the Wolves scored four runs in the first two innings to win, 4-1, over seventh-seeded Howe.
Arkoma then pulled off a 6-5 upset over sixth-seeded Pocola.
At LeFlore, Whitesboro opened with a 10-0 victory over Cameron. Panama got a bye as Bokoshe pulled out of the tournament.
