QUINTON—Kinta ended Whitesboro’s remarkable run through the Class B consolation round with a 51-24 win Saturday in the area consolation championship game.
Kinta, which ended the season ranked first, moves on to the state tournament with a 23-7 record. Whitesboro, ends its season with a 14-17 record.
The Bulldogs kept the game close in the first quarter, trailing 13-10. Kinta then took control, outscoring Whitesboro 38-14 over the final three periods.
Whitesboro lost to Kinta in the district tournament, then won three straight games in the regional tournament and the first two in the area to pull within one win of making the state tournament.
Kinta, which lost 45-43 to LeFlore in the area championship game Friday, was led by Jude Johnson with 17 points. Bobby Rose led Whitesboro with 12 points.
