County cities saw an increase of $18,551.88 from the same time frame last year. There were 10 cities and town showing an increase with only five showing a decrease.
Pocola showed the biggest jump, going from $41,968.95 last year to $49,543 this year, thanks in large part to an increase in the tax rate from .03 to .04.
Spiro, Talihina and Heavener also showed good gains. Talihina was up $4,631.01, Spiro showed an increase of $4,521.39 and Heavener was up $3,463.39.
Cameron went from $2,986.03 last year to $4,804.38 this year.
Shady Point showed the biggest decrease, going from $12,002.87 last year to $8,079.64 this year. Arkoma’s tax receipts went down from $8,602.25 to $6,824.72.
The county’s tax total went down $10,277.85. Last year, the total was $499,725.68, but it dropped to $489,447.83 this year.
