OKLAHOMA CITY—LeFlore’s boys added to their impressive resume of wins on Friday in the semifinals of the Class B state tournament.
In the regular season, the Savages had two wins over top-ranked Kinta. On Thursday, LeFlore defeated third-ranked Earlsboro in the quarterefinals.
Now, LeFlore has scored a 52-51 win over second-seeded Leedey and got revenge for last year’s 49-31 loss to Leedey in the semifinals.
The No. 8 Savages play fourth-ranked Calumet for the gold ball Saturday at noon in the State Fairgrounds Arena. Calumet (26-4) defeated Kinta in the other semifinal game, 74-66.
LeFlore (25-6) has won 14 straight games going into the championship game. Senior guard Aaron Lloyd hit the eventual winning basket and scored 15 of the Savages’ 17 points in the fourth quarter.
The Savages trailed 40-35 going into the fourth quarter before rallying.
Lloyd finished with 28 points while Blake Crase scored 12 for LeFlore.
