MULDROW—Poteau improved to 2-0 with a 14-1 win at Muldrow on Thursday in district baseball action.
The Pirates are scheduled to host Idabel in another district game Friday starting at 3 p.m.
After beating Muldrow 24-1 on Monday to open the season, the Pirates got another easy win. Poteau scored five runs in the first, added four more in the second, one run in the third and four more in the sixth.
Muldrow scored its lone run in the fourth inning.
Poteau had three players with multiple hits. Cade Smith went 2-3 with a double and four RBI while Carson Cheek was 2-5 with a run scored and Ben Klutts had a 2-3 game with two RBI and three runs.
Smith was also the winning pitcher for Poteau. He went 5.0 innings, striking out three while allowing only three hits. Easton Francis closed out the game for the Pirates, striking out one and not allowing a hit in one inning.
