FORT SMITH, Ark.—Poteau’s Ryan Ward finished first and the Pirates won the team championship at the Roland Tournament at Ben Geren Golf Course here on Thursday.
Ward and Heavener’s Braxton Sullivan both shot a 75 with Ward winning first by a scorecard playoff. Both the Wolves Sullivan and Jacob Davis had their best rounds of the year (see STORY).
Poteau’s Bryson Terry also placed in the top 10, shooting an 81 to finish seventh. The Pirates’ score of 337 was good for first in the tournament.
Other Poteau scores were Justun Coyle with an 87, Luke Wheat finished with a 93 and Jerry Loggains turned in a 102.
There were 56 golfers in the tournament.
