KIOWA—LeFlore split a pair of games in the Class B regional baseball tournament here on Tuesday.
The Savages lost the opener, 7-6, to Kiowa before rebounding in the second game to defeat Smithville, 12-2.
LeFlore will play Kiowa again on Wednesday after the Cowboys fell to Moss, 6-5, in Tuesday’s other game.
In the opener, Kiowa scored four runs in the top of the seventh to get the win. LeFlore answered with a pair of runs, but came up a run short.
Luke Jackson tripled and doubled for the Savages and was 2-4 with two RBI, Jett Carver had a pair of doubles while going 2-4 with two RBI and Jackson Woodall was 2-3 with a run.
Dawson Warren went the first 5.0 innings, giving up four hits while striking out five. Carver pitched 1.0 innings, allowing five hits and striking out one before Blake Crase finished up, striking out one and allowing two hits.
In the second contest, LeFlore jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first inning and coasted to the win over the Braves to stay alive in the tournament.
Crase pitched 1.0 innings, allowing no hits while striking out two before Hagen Earls pitched 4.0 innings, striking out four and giving up four hits.
Woodall went 3-3 with a double and a run to lead LeFlore while Earls tripled and went 2-2 with three RBI and a run, Jackson went 2-2 with three runs and two RBI, Mason Warren had a double and was 2-2 with two runs and a RBI while Dawson Warren tripled and was 1-3 with two RBI and a run.
