PANAMA—Panama won a Class 2A district baseball tournament with a pair of wins over Howe on Thursday.
The Razorbacks (21-6) defeated Howe 9-1 and 12-0 to advance to next week’s regional tournament.
In the opener Tristan Thompson threw a 3-hitter while striking out four.
Tyler Singleterry took the loss for the Lions with relief help from Brant Denton.
Thompson also doubled three times and was 3-3 with two runsn and a RBI, Dawson Restine doubled and went 2-3 with two RBI, Connor Tackett had a double and went 1-3 with a RBI and a run while Rowdy Downs doubled and was 1-2 with a run scored.
Derek Carroll threw a 2-hitter in the second contest for the Razorbacks. Diego Sanchez was the losing pitcher for Howe.
Jacob Mantooth homered for Panama and was 2-2 with three RBI and two runs, Tackett went 3-3 with a RBI and run, Chance Timms doubled in a 2-2 outing with a run, Dakota Eaves tripled and was 3-3 with two RBI and a run, Downs had a 2-4 game with a double and two runs and Tanner Thompson went 2-4 with a run scored.
Howe ends the year with a 19-11 record.
