SALLISAW—Pocola defeated Westville, 9-4, in the third-place game at the Central Sallisaw baseball tournament Saturday.
The Indians grabbed a 4-0 lead in the top of the first and added a single run in the third, three in the fourth and one more in the seventh.
Kyler Helms was the winning pitcher for the Indians, going 6.0 innings, striking out eight and giving up five hits. Kyler Ree finished up the last inning with no hits and one strikeout.
Dakota Wofford doubled twice for Pocola and was 2-3 with three RBI and two runs, Ree also doubled and went 2-3 with two RBI and a run scored while Hunter Traylor also doubled.
Pocola improves to 13-5 and hosts Stigler on Monday. Westville falls to 8-9.
