POTEAU—Poteau scored a pair of easy wins over Tulsa Rogers in Class 4A bi-district tournament play.
The Pirates allowed only one hit over two games in winning 16-0 and 19-0 to advance to next week’s regional tournament.
Bryson Myers threw a four-inning no-hitter in the 16-0 win, allowing no hits while striking out six. Cade Smith was the winner in the other contest, allowing one hit over three innings and striking out six.
In the opener, Ben Klutts homered and was 1-2 with two RBI and two runs scored, Easton Francis tripled and was 1-1, Jordan Collins went 2-2 with two RBI, Myers was 1-1 with a double and two RBI, Kale Barcheers had a 1-3 game with a double and a RBI and Carson Cheek went 1-3 with a double, one RBI and a run.
In the second game, Poteau jumped ahead with nine runs in the first before adding 10 more in the second.
Barcheers and Jaden Collins both homered for the Pirates. Jaden Collins went 2-2 with three runs and two RBI while Barcheers was 1-2 with three RBI and three runs. Rece Ward had a 2-3 game with a triple, two runs and two RBI, Francis doubled twice and went 3-3 with three RBI and three runs, Klutts had a double in a 1-3 outing with a run and RBI and Jordan Collins was 2-2 with a run.
Poteau advances with a 21-9 record while the Ropers are eliminated with a 1-18 record.
