POTEAU—The top three seeds advanced in the 2017 slow-pitch softball LeFlore County Tournament on Monday with wins.
Top-seeded Heavener defeated LeFlore, 17-4, (see STORY), second-seeded Howe downed Cameron, 10-2, and third-seeded Wister blasted Pocola, 16-5.
Fourth-seeded Poteau, however, was knocked off by Panama, 12-6.
In winner’s bracket semifinals on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. Heavener plays Panama and Howe takes on Wister.
The winner’s advance to Thursday’s winner’s bracket finals while the losers drop into the consolation bracket.
In opening-round games Panama defeated Talihina, 12-0; Pocola dropped Arkoma, 8-1; Cameron defeated Whitesboro, 6-3; and LeFlore edged Bokoshe, 9-8.
In loser’s bracket games Tuesday at 5 p.m. Pocola plays Bokoshe; Cameron takes on Talihina; LeFlore goes against Arkoma; and Poteau battles Whitesboro.
