The top four seeds won their opening games on Monday as the 2017 baseball LeFlore County Tournament got going.
Top-seeded Wister coasted past Howe, 16-5. Second seeded Poteau had to rally past LeFlore, 4-3 while third-seeded Arkoma took down Arkoma, 10-2 and fourth-seeded Pocola advanced with an 11-5 victory over Spiro.
In the winner’s bracket semifinals at Panama on Tuesday, Wister takes on Pocola at 5 p.m. while Panama plays Poteau at 7 p.m.
In loser’s bracket play, LeFlore plays Whitesboro at 1 p.m. at Panama.
At Spiro, Cameron plays Howe at 3 p.m. with Spiro and Heavener meeting at 5 p.m. The winner of the two games play at 7 p.m.
In first-round games earlier on Monday, Arkoma blasted Cameron, 17-2; LeFlore blanked Heavener, 10-0; and Howe got the win over Whitesboro, 16-8.
