POTEAU—Poteau’s Ryan Ward and Bryson Terry finished in first and second place while the Pirates won the team championship at the Poteau Invitational Tournament on Thursday.
In the 27-hole event at Choctaw Country Club, the Pirates shot a combined 471 (313-158) to win by 43 strokes over second-place McAlester.
Ward carded a 69-39 for a 108 total to edge out Terry, who shot 73-37 for a 110.
Poteau’s Justun Coyle finished tied for eighth with an 82-39 (121) while Luke Wheat shot 135 (92-43) and Jerry Loggains turned in a 137 (89-48).
Heavener’s Braxton Sullivan finished seventh, shooting a 120 (81-39) and Jacob Davis had a 139 (95-44).
