WISTER—Wister swept Talihina in a 2A baseball district tournament on Tuesday.
The Wildcats won the two games, 10-0 and 20-0, to advance to next week’s regional tournament.
Wister (15-6) got a 2-hitter from Kolton Lynn in the 10-0 win. Lynn gave up the two hits while striking out five over 4.0 innings.
Kyler Baugh was tagged with the loss for Talihina.
Koby Midgley was 2-2 with a RBI for the Wildcats while Scotty Gibson went 2-2 with a RBI. Cash Balentine doubled in a 1-3 game with a run while Ethan Billings also doubled and was 1-3 with two RBI and a run.
Gibson went 3.0 innings in the 20-0 win as the Wildcats exploded for all 20 runs in the first inning.
Gibson struck out four and allowed only one hit. Trevor Whitebird was the losing pitcher for the Golden Tigers.
Lynn went 2-2 with two RBI and two runs, Gibson was 2-2 with a pair of RBI, Seth Hill doubled in a 2-3 game with two RBI and two runs while Grant Shipman was 1-1 with two RBI and two runs.
