It will be an abbreviated opening week of the 2017 football season for LeFlore County teams as only four teams play in Week 0.
Heavener goes to Haskell (see STORY) in Scott Martin’s debut as the coach of the Wolves, Panama hosts Warner, Talihina goes to Atoka and Arkoma visits Southwest Covenant.
Panama is looking to rebound from a disappointing finish last year to end 5-5. The Razorbacks started the season strong, including a 45-18 win at Warner in the opener. The Eagles finished 3-8.
Talihina is banged up to open the season as the Golden Tigers look to sweep the two-game series from Atoka. The Golden Tigers went 10-2 last year, including a 49-32 win over the Wampus Cats in the opener.
Atoka finished 1-9.
Arkoma and Southwest Covenant are both coming off winning seasons. The Mustangs went 10-2 while the Patriots were 6-4. The two teams did not play last season.
