PANAMA—Howe scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to come from behind and defeat Panama, 14-11, in fast-pitch softball Saturday.
After Panama’s Makenna Murdock hit a 3-run home run in the bottom of the sixth, the Lady Lions rallied for the four runs in the top of the seventh to clinch the win.
Abby Davidson got the win for Howe to improve to 9-1 on the season. She had six strikeout in six innings and Makaleah Lewis pitched one inning for Howe.
Kristin Watson was the losing pitcher for Panama. She pitched 2.1 innings while Murdock threw 4.2 innings.
Howe scored eight of its 14 runs on Panama errors, wild pitches and hit batters. Justyn Lynn was 2-3 with a triple, RBI and run, Sydnie Womack knocked in two runs and scored a run while going 2-4, Loren Ford-Rogers was 2-3 with a double and Peyton Stubbs also doubled, scored three runs, knocked in a pair of runs and went 1-2.
Murdock was 3-3 for Panama, including the home run, with four RBI, two runs, Hailey Weaver went 2-4 with a double, two runs and a RBI while Maci Goines finished 2-4 with a RBI and run scored.
Howe improves to 10-1 while Panama drops to 2-8. Howe goes to Keota on Monday while Panama hosts Quinton on Tuesday.
