WHITESBORO—Howe and Whitesboro both went 2-0 in the Whitesboro Tournament on Thursday to advance to the winner’s bracket finals.
The Lady Lions opened with a 10-2 win over Haworth before edging LeFlore, 4-2.
Whitesboro defeated Buffalo Valley, 14-1 and downed Smithville, 4-1.
LeFlore split its two games, defeating Battiest, 10-1 and falling to Howe.
In Howe’s win over Haworth, Abby Davidson got the win while Sydnie Womack tripled and was 3-4 with two doubles and four RBI, Peyton Stubbs doubled and went 3-4 with two RBI and a run, Loren Ford-Rogers doubles while going 2-3 with two runs, Jalei Oglesby was 2-4 with three runs and a RBI and Justyn Lynn was 2-3 with a RBI and a run.
Against LeFlore, Womack hit a 2-run home run, tripled, knocked in three runs and scored a run while going 2-3, Dani Collins went 1-1 with a double, Makaleah Lewis finished 1-3 with a double, Caitlyn Stacy was 1-2 with a double and Davidson was the winning pitcher to improve to 3-1.
Howe trailed 2-1 before scoring three times in the bottom of the fifth. Raelyn Herell doubled for the Lady Savages and was 1-2. Megan Luman went 5.0 innings, giving up seven hits and striking out two.
LeFlore got a triple from Lindsey Hudlow and a double from Maddie Vaden in the win over Battiest. Vaden went 2-2 with a run and RBI and Hudlow was 1-1 with two RBI and two runs.
Luman pitched 2.0 innings, allowing three hits and striking out three while Lindsey Waits went 2.0 innings, giving up one hit and striking out three.
