CLAYTON—Whitesboro split a pair of games here Monday as the Lady Bulldogs blanked the hosts, 12-0, in four innings and lost to Hartshorne, 8-7, in 10 innings.
In the win over Clayton, Ashley Johnson and Holly Bowman teamed up for a 1-hitter. Johnson pitched 3.0 innings, allowing one hit while striking out three while Bowman threw one inning, striking out one and allowing no hits.
Hannah Abeyta went 1-3 with two RBI and a run.
Against Hartshorne, the two teams were tied at 3 at the end of extra innings. Whitesboro scored four runs in the top of the ninth before the Lady Miners answered with four in the bottom half of the inning and scored the winning run in the bottom of the 10th.
Bowman took the loss for Whitesboro, going the distance while striking out four and allowing 11 hits.
Ashten Bailey homered and was 2-4 with two RBI and a run. Lizzie Lemay went 2-5 with a double, two runs and a RBI, Hailey Himes was 2-5 with a run and Abeyta finished 2-6 with a run. Bowman doubled and went 1-2 with one RBI and Ashley Johnson knocked in two runs in a 1-5 outing with a run scored.
Whitesboro hosts Red Oak on Monday.
