POTEAU–Carl Albert State College hosted a counselor breakfast at the Poteau campus on Wednesday. There were 26 area schools were represented with over 50 people in attendance.
CASC Vice President of Enrollment Jennifer Humphreys welcomed guests to campus and also shared information about the CASC Scholars Program. Other speakers included CASC Recruiter Randy Armstrong with a recruitment update, CASC Registrar/VA Coordinator Dee Ann Dickerson discussed concurrent enrollment, and CASC Upward Bound Academic Advisor/CASC National ACT Coordinator Marsha Caughern gave a National ACT update. A question and answer session was provided during the event followed by a campus tour.
A $500 scholarship drawing went to Amanda Garner from Vian High School that she will present to a Vian student planning to attend CASC.
“I feel this was a great success, and we are looking forward to making this an annual event,” she said. “The goal was to strengthen our partnerships, and hear what schools and students truly need. The event provided a great opportunity to network, learn about exciting CASC updates, and discuss ways to collaborate on student success.”
Humphreys concluded with stating her appreciation to CASC enrollment management assistant Joanna Brown for her work in helping plan the breakfast event.
